Young World Ministries Youth
Written, composed and sung by Rex Atirai, Mai Ka Po is a song that tells the story of how Christianity first reached Hawai‘i — a message of light breaking through darkness, and faith finding its way to new shores.

Originally created for the Young World Ministries Youth from Bethany CICC (Brisbane, AU) to perform at their Multicultural Youth Rally, the song carried a message of unity and faith that deeply resonated with everyone present.

After the rally, Nola presented the idea of turning it into an official music video featuring the same youth group — and they were so excited!
Though many had no prior performing experience and not one of them were Hawaiian, they stepped up — God-willing — and together brought this beautiful story to life.
A true testament to faith, courage, and purpose.

Nola
Written and composed by Rex Atirai as a personal dedication to Nola, the song was originally meant to remain unreleased — a private piece of their story.
However, after much reflection, we decided a few months ago to share it with the world.

What began as a heartfelt expression has now become a milestone — “Nola” marks the first of Rex’s songs to be featured on New Zealand radio.
Muri Ake Te Ua
After The Rain
Muri Ake Te Ua (After the Rain) is a heartfelt piece by Rex Atirai, written as a dedication to Raven and Jasmine Nicholls. The song was conceptualised and written by Nola Rura, whose intention was to create something deeply personal — a musical expression of love, promise, and divine purpose surrounding the birth of their daughter, Amariah Grace Moeroa Arerangi Nicholls.

Originally written in English, the piece was later translated into the Aitutakian dialect of the Cook Islands language by Ngatuaine Rura, preserving its emotional depth while embracing the beauty of the family’s island heritage.

The creation of Muri Ake Te Ua began as a humble idea — Nola’s wish to honour the family’s story through song. Out of respect, she sought permission from Raven and Jasmine before writing it, ensuring the dedication remained authentic and true to their journey. The song’s title, meaning “After the Rain,” reflects themes of hope, new beginnings, and the divine promise that follows life’s storms — symbolising Amariah’s name and the light she brings after seasons of loss and waiting.

More than just a song, Muri Ake Te Ua stands as a musical blessing — a reminder of faith, grace, and the beauty that follows after the rain.
